Hi! My name is Teri Hargrove and I have the privilege of being your PEP Club President again this year. I was the PEP Club President from 2004-2009 and was Rhodes Office Manager from 2009-2020 when I retired. I have five adult children, four of which attended Rhodes and two grandsons, Lincoln who will be a 2nd grader at Rhodes this year and Lennox who will attend TK at Cattle. My daughter Jennifer is a 5th grade teacher and my daughter Stephanie is a substitute teacher here at Rhodes. I have been a part of Rhodes since before it was built, I guess you could say it’s in my blood. I love this school and am looking forward to another incredible year. I want you to know that all parents and staff are part of the PEP Club, and you are welcome to attend any of our monthly meetings. Hi. My name is Traci Chun. This is my third year on PEP Club’s Executive Board. I am a mom of two kiddos, Sofia who is in 4th grade this year, and Ezra who is in 1st grade.  I have been volunteering in the classroom for the last 4 years and was University Parent last year.  I also work as a playground supervisor at Rhodes.  I am looking forward to this year and seeing all of you and your Scholars..

Hello! My name is Jeanette Phillips. This is my third year on the PEP Club Board.. I began to volunteer at Rhodes as University Parent and Art Masters Parent. I have an Associates Degree in Accounting and Liberal Arts from Chaffey College, and Bachelor Degree in Business from University of Redlands. I have worked in Finance for over 15 years. I have two boys attending Rhodes, Myles and Marcus. Looking forward to seeing you all throughout the school year!

Greetings, my name is Lisa Lawrence, and this is my 2nd year on PEP. I have two young daughters, one in 2nd grade and the other in 4th grade, and I am actively volunteering in their classrooms. As a working mother with dual degrees in IT and Mexican American Studies, I am always on the hunt for new family adventures and those cherished lazy days at home. Please feel free to introduce yourself if you see me around, or better yet, join our Pep Club meetings to explore all the exciting opportunities we offer.

Hi there! My name is Nicole Salazar and this is my second year on the PEP Club Board. I am a mom to two boys, a third and fifth grader. Volunteering in my boys classroom, school events, and as Art Master parent has been such a rewarding experience. I am also one of the RSP paraprofessionals here at Rhodes. When not on campus, I enjoy watching movies, creating art projects, photography, and spending quality time with my family. I am excited to serve as the VP Spirit Wear for the 2025-2026 school year, and look forward to spreading school spirit among Scholars, staff, and familes!

Hi, my name is Stephanie Perluss, This is my 2nd year on the PEP Club Board and I have also served on the School Site Council at Rhodes for three years. . My son will be in third grade this year. I am entering my 19th year as a high school teacher, so education runs through my bones. I have a Bachelors degree from Cal Poly Pomona as well as a Masters Degree from Claremont Graduate University. Being a part of the PEP Club has allowed me to take an active role in my son’s school community and get to know some of the other awesome parent volunteers at the same time. I encourage you to come to our meetings.

Auditor

My name is Brandi Mitchell, and this is my first year on PEP serving as the Auditor. I have one daughter who is in 3rd grade, and I am also on the School Site Council for Rhodes. I have been an educator for the past 23 years, 20 years as a teacher in CVUSD and now as a Counselor and Outreach Consultant in OMSD. I have a BA in Liberal Studies, an MS in Education, and an MS in School Counseling. I understand how difficult volunteering on campus can be during the school day, so being a part of SSC and PEP are ways that I try and stay connected. I am looking forward to the new school year and am excited to be involved.

Hi! My name is Victoria Monterroso. I recently retired from 14 years of doing taxes to be a stay-at-home mom to my two beautiful girls (Isabella 8, Layla 5). I have enjoyed being a University Parent the past 3 years and this is my 2nd year on the PEP Club Board.. I have always enjoyed photography and capturing the special moments of growing kiddos. They are only this young for such a short time, so I enjoy looking back on pictures. I’m excited to be a part of capturing those moments for Rhodes and the families that attend. Looking forward to meeting you all!

Dean of Family Fun Nights

My name is Gina Maldonado and I’m the one who loves to schedule our monthly Family Fun Nights. I also work at Rhodes as a Paraprofessional in RSP.  So, yes I’m always around! I have a Bachelors degree from CSU San Marcos in Liberal Studies, I have two children. Tony is in 4th grade and Nayeli is a Sophomore at Ayala High School.  I have been on the PEP Club board since 2015, when my daughter was in kindergarten. I have also been a University Parent ever since then.  I am also fluent in Spanish.  I look forward to seeing you at some of our Family Fun Nights.

Hi there! My name is Hannah Hernandez. Five years ago I had the opportunity of being University Parent for my son,. It was such a rewarding experience, I knew I wanted to be part of the Rhodes team in bigger way. So this is my 4th year as Dean of University Parents, I hope we can continue to create an environment of enthusiasm and positivity where our kids can thrive. I am a stay-at-home mom to a 4th grader and 2nd grader and have lived in Chino and the surrounding areas for 10 years and proud to be part of this wonderful community. As a family we enjoy all things outdoors and can be found hiking, camping, and discovering new and fun places. I am excited for the year and look forward to seeing all of you around campus.

Hi! My name is Anissa Buccola and I will be the Co-Dean of Art Masters this year. I am a wife and stay-at-home mom to my 4 children, : Jeffrey in 8th, Daniel in 6th, Lauren in 4th and Emily in 2nd. I have always loved being involved in my kids' classrooms as an Art Master or University Parent but I'm so excited to be a member of our AMAZING Pep Club and take on this role. Art Master’s is a wonderful program that the Scholars truly love and I have found to be extremely rewarding. It would not exist without our wonderful parent volunteers, and I encourage any and all to become involved. Cheers to a fantastic school year ahead!

Hi! My name is Sarah Sanchez. I am Co-Dean of Art Masters. I am currently a stay-at-home mother to my three children- Scarlett (6th grade), Charles (5th grade), and Lincoln (1st grade). Prior to having kids, I was a sixth-grade teacher. Fun fact: I have a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, where I created art curriculum for Kindergarteners! I’ve always had a passion for art, which drew me to this position! In previous years, I volunteered to teach art lessons in my children’s classrooms at Rhodes. I am looking forward to another year as a Dean of Art Masters, and welcome anyone that would like to become involved!

My name is Joanne Aquino. I have served 3 years as VP of Fundraising and this year I will be the Dean of RINGO’s/ I am a full-time nurse and love to help whenever I can. I have one daughter, Ayla, and she’s in the 5th grade this year. I am excited for this new adventure and hope to meet you all soon!

Hi, my name is Ivette Tello! This is my 4th year on the PEP Club Board and I am Co-Dean of Extra Events and RINGOs. I have two children. My daughter is in 8th grade and my son is in 5th grade. Volunteering in my kids classroom, school events, and as University Parent has been a rewarding experience. I am looking forward to a wonderful year full of events and activities families will enjoy. Hi! My name is Hoda Aguirre and I have been on the PEP Club Board as Dean of Book Fairs for the last 7 years. I have 3 boys. Osiris who is in 8th grade, Dakarai who is in 6th grade and Khepri who is in 4th grade. We love it here at Rhodes. I have been a stay-at-home mom for the past 9 years, but prior to that I was a nurse. I enjoy PEP Club and the feeling that I am somehow contributing to Rhodes and the community. I look forward to another amazing year.

My oldest (20) attends University of LaVerne, my 18 year old just graduated from Ayala High School and my youngest is a 5th grader here at Rhodes. I volunteer every chance I get whether in the community or here at school. I am excited for this opportunity and looking forward to a great year.

Hi, my name is Fiorella Tello, and this is my first year on the PEP Club Board. I’m a proud mother of three - Chiara (6th grade), Bianca (1st grade), and Gianna (Kindergarten). Last year, I had the opportunity to serve as a University Parent, which inspired me to become more involved in the Rhodes community. I’m excited for this new chapter and look forward to an amazing year of connection, collaboration, and support for our students and school.

Hello! My name is Lorena Galvan and this  will be my second year on the PEP Club Board. I have 3 children. My two sons have both started and promoted out of Rhodes.  They are now in college (GCU) and high school (Ayala). My youngest is my baby girl who will be a 4th grader this year.  I have a Bachelor’s  degree from CSUF in Child and Adolescent studies and I have worked as  a police dispatcher for the past 13 years.  I am excited for the new school year and look forward to meeting you all.

HI my name is Jessica Shanahan. This is my second year being on the PEP Club Executive Board. I will be one of the Historians, I am really looking forward to it. I have three daughters, two of them go to school here and the other one is a toddler. I'm also a part of the Mini Truck Car scene. I'm the historian for that club as well. I love taking pictures and I've been doing photography for about 10 years with vehicles and now I look forward to taking pictures of all of you at our events. If you see me with my camera at any of our events, make sure to say cheese!

Hello! I’m Brianna & I’m a mom of 4 - three girls & one boy. This year my kids will be in grades 9, 2, kinder & pre-school. I enjoy spending time with family, watching a good movie, & helping out in any way I can. I was a University Parent for the first time for my daughter’s 1st grade class & I hope to continue to be part of their education for years to come! This is my first time on PEP and I am looking forward to an exciting year.

Dean of Veteran’s Day Event

Hello my name is Gina Jimenez. It’s my first year having a job on Pep Club. I will be the Dean of Veteran’s Day Event. I’m actually a grandparent of a sixth grader but my first experience with Rhodes was the year it opened. My daughter, who is now 28 years old started first grade and I was very involved my years at Rhodes back then so it’s so awesome to be back now with my granddaughter. I look forward to this year on PEP Club just to help make things the best they can be around Rhodes, get to know new people, and enjoy some fun events our last year here. Go Rhodes Scholars!
